Hi guys,

So just randomly in my Corolla 2013 ZRE-182R Sport the tweeter at the top of the door just started buzzing like crazy. Im assuming its blown, no other speaker makes this noise and it doesn't matter what Im listening to it buzz's like crazy, AM FM CD USB people just talking or of course when music is playing. Its more irritating than anything.

Im obviously going to have to get it replaced. Is there really anything I need to know before I go and start looking for someone to replace it. I know its a stupid question but would they have to replace all the Speakers or just the ones on that side. Im not even sure how many Speakers the car has!

As I said its a dumb question but i have no idea and would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Think I would disconnect the offending tweeter and see if all the other Speakers sound ok.

Typically that cover holding the tweeter should just pop off and you could disconnect the faulty tweeter. ( radio switched off )

You might have to cut and insulate the wires, as I seem to remember the actual connector is down behind the door card.

(Don't discard the tweeter just in case the fault is within the wiring)

Assuming they are original Toyota parts you will need to replace with the same or if you use an auto/audio electrician they might  be able to find a matching pair of suitable new ones at a better price.

Do not know which country you are in, but here  in the UK we get 5 years Toyota warranty, so your 2013 model should be covered  ...?

( our UK Corolla was replaced by the Auris in 2007)
