Moving from focus to avensis

I have some 10w30 oil containers and silver calcium Battery can they safely be used on a 2007  petrol 1.8 avensis. Going to scrap my focus as it has a huge reving problem. I also have a good ignition coil Bosch, new haas maf, and oil filter for focus can any of these work on avensis? Silly question, I am guessing a big No.

Fords use a smart charge system so they need silver calcium Battery. I guess it would not matter as alternator voltage would be revualated by ecu so it would make a good spare Battery for avensis?

I don't think much of what you have will be of any use for the Avensis unfortunately.

I'm no oil expert but 10w30 is not one of the recommended grades for these engines as far as I know. The coil, MAF and oil filter almost certainly won't fit other than by a fluke. I've never known any components to be interchangeable between Ford and Toyota.

A calcium silver Battery is not a problem in itself, as long as it has sufficient capacity and cranking amps for the Avensis, but there are so many different sizes and configurations of car batteries now that you may well find that either the + & - terminals are the wrong way round, the Battery casing won't fit the retaining bracket properly etc etc.

Personally I would try to sell it all (eBay perhaps?) to another Focus owner.

I will check the terminals on the Toyota Battery, anyway it may be a good idea to clean the Battery terminals and spray some contact fluid on them and the alternator. Also have a bottle of Ford gear oil, I may be able to swap the halford oil filter for the Toyota one....loving the car for 2 days....lucky I did not go for another Ford!

As yossarian247, the Battery needs to have the right capacity and size. The preferred grade is usually 05w30. The oil can be used as top up, but you might as well give it somebody else or use on vehicles that use that grade. The other parts need to go to another Ford Focus owner. Nothing fits.

You have one of the later 1ZZ engines - no oil burning issues and should be reliable, with regular servicing.

One more thing, update your profile to show the actual car you own. It makes it easier to respond to questions without asking what car/engine.

Good to know, no oil leaking but I will check again in 4 weeks. I have also updated my car details.
