windscreen washers

The windscreen washer jets on my mk 2 Prius seemed to be blocked as the water squirts were very weak. Poking the jets with thin piano disconnected, didn,t  make any difference. I disconnected the pipe to the first connection under the bonnet and water pressure was fine. I then drained the water from the bottle . ( Ready mix windscreen fluid.) I found it had thickened globules in it. I threw  that out and  put a half a spoonful of washing up liquid in the bottle and filled it up with water. After a few times squirting the windscreen the jets cleared..

Hi washing up liquid contains salt so I would watch out for your paintwork as it is very soft being waterbased

Thanks for the info I suspected it would not be  suitable for too long  use.
