struggling to start

hi my 2006 d cat is sounding Like it's struggling you start it replaced diesel filter no difference had Battery checked had diagnostics done no code runs fine when started no lights on almost sounds like it's flooding help please thank you

I thought diesels only used those glow plugs when it's cold outside?

it's been doing it when it's cold or warm out side it's a 2.2td thank you would it not come up on diagnostics will check them

Hi Susie.

Glow plugs come on every time you start the car even if the engine is already hot from when you last turned it off even if it was minutes ago and you just popped into a shop so to speak. Another problem is are the glow plugs getting a feed, electricity, this will have to be tested with a multimeter or a bulb and wire, no feed means the plugs won't glow. Mike.
