does anybody know is it save to remove catalytic converter on a 06 e12 corolla will it trow any fault or anything?

Posted

In the UK removal of the catalytic converter will probably mean an MOT (annual vehicle test) failure. The same may be true of the Irish NCT.

ya i understand that but I will fit it again for mot

If there's an O2 sensor after the converter then you will experience issues, as the car's ECU will be expecting a specific reading from the gases going through the converter. If you remove it, then the gases won't change, and this will throw a warning light.

ya there is a sensor on it but the dummy cat allows a sensor to be put on so will it still trow faults. thansk in advance

It will keep throwing errors, because the gases aren't changed via a dummy catalytic converter.

If you remove the cat I think you will need to have a bit of work done on your ECU to compensate for it.
