For the past couple of months my check engine light has been going on and off. The dealer said it is a Neutral Position Switch problem. However, i have been experimenting and it seems as if when the head lights are switched on, the check engine light and, a light at the instrument panel with the rear lights comes on. Also when the lights are turned on the car seems as if it has no juice from 2000 - 4000 rpm and then at 4000 rpm it begins to accelerate quickly. When no lights are on (headlights and dash lights) the car runs very smoothly and there is no acceleration problems at all.

Trying to fix the issue i have replaced spark plugs and wires and have drained and re-filled transmission, oil, and coolant. Also i have cleaned the gas line.

Another problem i seem to be having is that the reverse lights don't work at all.

(i have replaced all lights and nothing seems to help)

Some people are suggesting alternator problems and some say electrical, i personally have no idea.

I am not sure if any one can relate to this issue seeing as I've been to 2 dealers and they have no idea at all what the problem is, so if anyone has a clue could you please let me know.

Thanks
