Hks Evc Upping The Boost...

Hi all,

I've got a problem with my rev3 turbo, I don't seem to be able to increase the boost above 0.9 bar.

I have a HKS electronic boost controller mounted in the glovebox, it looks a little bit like this one but possibly the next model up...

When the boost controller is switched off I'm reaching about 3/4 boost.

When the boost controller is on no matter what I increase the 'high' setting to it always boosts up to 0.85 - 0.90 ish bar.

The Scramble Boost setting will sometimes reach 1.0 bar.

Can anybody tell me what the problem could be or have I set the EVC up wrong?

Despite only reading 0.9 bar on my 'Toyota' boost gauge that reads just off the end at the top.

I'd really like to be running 1.2 -1.4 bar, my neighbours just took me out in a 1996 4.0 V8 TVR Chimera and ubiked me off a bit in doing so!

Cheers,

Rowland

Presumably the Mines ECU will be eliminating fuel cut - or so I thought?

I'm sorry what's the 'VSV'? - only been a tubby owner for 6 months!

have a read of this:

http://www.imoc.co.uk/technical/article/boost.htm

When I put my profec B in WITHOUT the vsv disabled the car would boost to whatever I set it to BUT would then drop straight down to the lowest possible factory setting (about 7 psi) once disabled it would boost to the setting and hold it :)

Cheers
