New Auris T180 owner

Hi Guys, just got myself a 2007 Auris T180

I really like it, however as with any new second hand car, it comes with a few niggles.....

Ive searched and searched for a solution and thought I'd join the forum to see if anyone can help me. (Please)

1. When I move steering left right left right , it knocks. Only an inch or so. When I drive it over small bumps holes etc I feel the same knock, which almost feels and sounds like a rattle. 

I know all over internet people say it either needs grease on he shaft or new parts. Has anyone had same issue, and is the steering column fault the same on any other models i.e. Avenue, Camry, corolla. 😜

If anyone could shed some definite light on this I'd be truly grateful.
