sort of URGENT! Avensis Fuse Box not there?

Hello all, first post as I just bought my Avensis T-Spirit Estate 2005 and I have a problem locating the fuse box.

I was trying to change the park light front bulb, it wasn't working. When I came to pull the existing one out the plug came off really easy and the bulb is still in the headlight. I couldn't get it out and rather than damage the headlamp I thought I would leave it to the mechanic next month. So I put the plastic cowling back on and left it. Went to work (nights) before I noticed no rear tail lights? Fuse!

...and this is where I am, I checked online for the location - three places, two under the bonnet/hood which I've looked at but I don't think these are the right place so the third location under steering wheel on drivers side to the right, yes there is a panel, pull this off and on the reverse is the fuse layout but when I look inside the cavity with a touch there is no fuse layout anywhere, just some connectors for some of the heavier loom wires? I';ve shone the tourch up the driver peddals and all round - I cannot see a fuse tray/box/pad whatever anywhere?

Could do with some answers before dawn (12hours) as I gotta drive back with it like this in the dark!

It's directly under the steering wheel. A little black cover says fuse on it.get a torch and look.the others are in behind the glove box and engine bay.

Success,  there are actually FIVE possibilities on a Right Hand Drive car, because they only switch the one box, I found it behind the glove compartment right back against the door , column..... oh joy - the manual is useless, the only line missing was at the end where they should have put , '....and good luck!'
