Button repair

One of my rubber buttons of my key has fallen off (unlocking button).
I have bought a repair kit,

but i'm wondering what's the best way to do this.

Do I need to remove the excising button that's still there, or just need to cut the rubber pad to repair the key.

If I need to remove the existing button, what's the best way to do this, and is it reversible if necessary ?

You can find the rubber sheet online cheaply. Straight forward task to swap.

Oops sorry, you can just peel the offending button off.

Can it still be reused after peeling it off, or is it destroyed after that ?

I don’t know if I am misunderstanding things.
The parts you have shown in the picture don’t include the electronics.
The old sheet can be removed, they are usually stuck to the electronics, the replacement doesn’t need to be stuck down. You can just place it into the top cover and reassemble the rest.
I hope it makes sense, I’m sure you could find a video on YouTube showing the procedure for changing the rubber sheet.

Not at all, I will try to explain my question better.

The original rubber pad that contains the buttons seems to be behind a transparent plastic cover where also  the electronics are,  I don't think it can be removed. (the black backside can be removed to replace the battery)

So the replacement pad seems to must be placed above the transparent cover, but there is still the original lock button that needs to be removed before I can do this.
I would like to know the best manner to do this.
If possible I would like to reuse it, if necessary.

I think you will have to remove the old buttons completely so that the new one is able to press on the tiny switch located on the circuit board. The original was pretty much 100% waterproof, something these will not be. They look a good repair option though to resurrect a damaged original.
