Was thinking about getting hold of a Harrier import.

Anyone got experience on buying and owning one.

eg 2.4 or 3.0 engine, 2 or 4 wheel drive, spares problems, insurance rating, economy

I just purchased a 1998 Harrier Four (for everyone else, the Toyota Harrier is an RX300 as sold in the rest of the world). It's a 3.0 6 cylinder 220hp quad cam full-time 4WD.

I've had a number of Lexus and Toyota products in the past and this one is a jewel just like all of the rest.

Of course it's right-hand drive and has one of those silly front fender mirrors (which I plan to remove! ) The drawback is that some of the screen info is in Japanese as is the owner's manual. If you end up needing an English translation, here is a great website that sells Japanese-to-English manuals:

Otherwise it's a Lexus RX300 though and through and any info you find about one will apply to the Harrier. You won't go wrong!
