mpg aygo 1.4 diesel

Hi 

as the title says i was wondering what mpg do people get from the 1.4 diesel aygo ......just curious if its much better than the petrol version....

The diesel Aygo didn't sell well in the UK as the official fuel consumption figures (combined) was only around 7mpg better than the petrol, and the new price was around £900 more than the petrol.

Withdrawn from sale in the UK after approx 2 years (2007).

I think it was slower as well, just get a petrol!!

Yeah, they really should have used the Toyota 1.4D4D instead of the PSA HDi1.4 in the diesel Aygo.. the PSA one was roughly equal-to or worse-than the 1.0 VVTi in almost every stat except torque IIRC.

The Toyota one OTOH was nearly twice as good in all stats!

I might have considered an Aygo as a next car if it had the Toyota D4D in it - My Mk1 Yaris is only slightly bigger and heavier than an Aygo and its 1.4 D4D is vastly more fun than the 1.0 version

i could be wrong, but wasn't the tax more than the petrol model too ?
