Sorry if this as been asked before.

I have a Auris 1.8 auto hybrid and was wondering why when starting off on a journey that the EV is not available I can use it after I’ve been driving for a while but not from the get go .......any ideas ?

They do it to get the engine up to operating temperature.

i used to have a CT200h and i could drive off in Ev mode as long as the charge was in the blue and not purple

the same goes for my Is300h no problems moving off in Ev first thing in the morning ,just asked the other half

and she can drive her Auris hybrid in Ev first thing in the morning also .

we live across the water from you so temperatures will be very similar so that can be ruled out, once you get to 20mph the ev turns off.
