tail gate removing

Good morning, I'm going to dismount tail gate at my e11 g6 (1999) to remove rust from the roof's edge. There are two obstacles: one is easy to remove  a rear wash-wipe pipe, but what about the wiring? Should I disconnect plugs (as on the picture) and pull out those to wiring cables and than set cable again at the same place after finishing the painting process? Or is it  any other way to do it?
