Toyota Vista Ardeo Poor Fuel Economy

Hello All,

I own a toyota vista Ardeo 2000 model. Its engine was replaced with an EFI engine that comes with 2.0cc Ipsum model. However it has a very poor fuel economy compared with similar Vista Ardeo Cars or even an ipsum with a similar engine. It usually takes me about 4Km per liter. I feel this is terrible.

I have had the spark plugs replaced, oxygen sensor replaced and I try as much as I can to adhere to good driving habits. I think there is something somewhere, say, a sensor or part that I need to replace/repair but am failing to understand what it is. Mechanics haven't helped either; they keep telling me everything is fine.

Any Ideas?
