Feed of volts from ignition on wiring required

On 2 occasions I've managed to flatten the Battery. This is how it's done, headlights on, stop the car turn off ignition, don't open the door, have a rest, read the paper and bingo the car won't start. ( the fitted lights on buzzer with ignition off only works if you open the driver's door).

I have a relay & buzzer ready to remedy this issue but I need to easily pick up a ignition on voltage.

Can anyone advise me the easiest place to pick up the feed, preferably under the bonnet.

Any information gratefuly received.

Which is the same with most Toyotas - it is to stop one leaving the car with the lights on.

you need a five pin changeover relay it will have pins 87 & 87a

i have attached an image for this to work

when power from an ignition controlled circuit is present at pin 86 ,pin 87 (top) is powered

when power is off at pin 86 ,pin 87a (middle) is connected but will only get an output if the headlights are on

Thanks eygo,

I'll try to extract an "ignition on" voltage from the wiper motor as you describe.
