Hi does anyone know how to tell the BMW 2.0 tdi engine from the toyota one

just wondered as mine was registered right at the time of the changeover but don't know which one was used

thanks for any help

just a bit concerned about the N47 engine

What's the quoted power output? The Toyota 2.0 D4D produces around 122 bhp whereas the BMW derived 2.0 D produces 143 bhp. There'll be other ways to check but that seems a pretty simple way ...

As far as I'm aware, the timing chain issues affected engines built up to 1st March 2013.

Thanks  guys 

I have the toyota engine, and am pleased to be honest, I think they had more or less got this engine spot on 

just before they go and do a deal with BMW and stop fitting it to their vehicles,

just have a little more confidence in toyota,s own engine and don't really need the extra horses so yes I am happy.
