I don’t often get a break......

So after a few months of looking for a Mk1 Rav 4 as my hobby car I found one. 

The owner a 96 year old lady who had owned the car since nearly new. 32,000 miles and in showroom condition. 

Bless her she was hoping to raise some money but had listed the car as spares or repair. 

A broken cam belt and a small amount of damage in a corner of the bumper - more of a scrape. 

So its currently at £200 and nearly about to end. I know a good car and have a good job so offered £1000. 

I went to see the car - paid cash and got it towed to a local garage not knowing if my new car needed a new engine or anything. 

The mechanic stripped it down and found the belt had gone and water pump - however two threads of the belt had held and avoided any damage!!! 

Two hours later and a new belt and I have a showroom condition Rav 4 with 32,000 miles for I think peanuts. 

Needless to say I dropped some flowers to the previous owner to say thanks. 

Very much enjoying my new weekend fun car.

I drove one of those not long after they first came out (was in the trade then) and was impressed by it's car like drive and comfort...enjoy it.
