I have posted my own view of the Gen 4 here

Yes, thanks for the link.  Mostly quite sensible reading, although like many, he doesn't seem to understand what the transmission does, or what B mode ("B" for regenerative?) is for, but the rest was refreshingly fair.

My only other (very slight) disagreement was with the comment about earlier versions being less wieldy on twisty roads.  Yes the Gen 4 is the best yet, but speaking as someone who doesn't try to corner on two wheels, I was never dissatisfied with the handling of any of the first three generations, and with the exception of the Gen 2 (with it's very firm seats and suspension), I was pretty happy with the ride quality of older versions too.
