Wind noise on a 2007 Auris

Hello everyone,

For some time i'm battling the cancer known as wind noise. It comes in at roughly 45-50km/h, so i constantly hear it in city driving :/

It's a 1,6 Auris, built in UK,  2007, but exported to the EU (so left hand drive).

As soon as a hit target speed, wind noise keeps comming from right side of the car, it's hard to identify, mostly it seems to be around pillar between the door, but sometimes it sound like it's in the back, sometimes the wing mirror.

So far i have tried cleaning all the door seals, they had some nasty gunk there, that dried out. I also used a piece of paper, closed the door, and pulled the paper to see if it seals correctly, it was fine.

I applied glycerin to the door seals, in hope of them sealing better, and for winter protection, no results.

In a desperate attempt to identify the wind noise location, i taped all the gaps between doors, even the tiny gaps between glass and the glass seals, nothing, not even a slight improvement.

I also did apply tape to wing mirrors, nothing.

That thing that baffles me is that i did not saw even a tiny improvement, so i presume it must be coming from somewhere else,  i tried searching online, and nothing helped.

I also tried taping the the top side of the boot, and right side down to the lights, as noise is coming from that side, and nothing.

Anyone got any ideas, pretty please? It annoys me more each time i drive it.

Does the sound change it's tone when you drive on new asphslt vs old? It must be road noise of some sort, maybe it can make some part of the car vibrate like resonance?

No, the tone does not change with the different kinds of asphalt. Also got steel rims now with softer winter tires, still the same.  I had it happen with much lower speeds due to high oncoming winds, i was going maybe 15 mph.

You've been very thorough, so, has the car been in any accidents (door membrane not refitted correctly?).

What about unscrewing the aerial temporarily.

Badly fitted pollen filter (I'm really trying here)? Leaves in the heater inlet?

What about the gap where the door mirror folds or where the mirror glass meets the plastic frame (try driving with the mirror folded)?

Engine undertray not fitted correctly?

Cabin air-exit shutter not opening/closing properly (underneath rear bumper, right hand side flank, maybe view through boot from inside)?

Could it be a wheel bearing screening? 15 mph is nothing, no wind noise is present at that speed. What if you shift to neutral, does that make a difference?

Actually  it's the antenna. I purchased a larger one so i could have better reception outside of the city. I fitted it shortly after i bought the car, and it never occurred to me that it might be it.

I thought it's the joint where they meet that was producing the sound, so i spent 30 minutes cutting up sound deadening foam, lining it up nicely so it does not show.

That helped a bit only, i tried closing that part with electrical tape, snug fit, but still there.

So it's just a shape of the antenna i would say. With it off, it's quiet, not a hint of noise. I would say it's because of the twisted wire somehow, or the top being too high.

Anyway i'll try to get a smaller one, hopefully it will have decent reception.

I found some rought edges leftover from molding, i'll try sanding that down and give it a go, but i doubt it would help.

Here's the photo of the culprit.

Thank you all for suggestions.
