Hi there everyone and it's good to be part of the huge toyota owners club. As you can probably tell i'm new to this forum and was hoping to get some information from all you experts.

I have recently bought a second hand, silver, x reg, december 99, Toyota Yaris VVT-I and am at this moment trying to make it look its best. I have already added the easy parts like sport seat covers front and back, mats, blue lights on the interior, coloured washer jets, coloured front lights and alarm but am having a bit of trouble trying to find out information on the stero aspects of the car.

I have been told by some people from Halfords that there is a toyota yaris adaptor fascia which makes it easier to put a brand new stereo head unit in although i have been told the opposite and been told that it doesnt exist although i still cant get hold of one. I was wondering if anyone knew any information on this or if i can indeed get hold of one.

I am also having trouble trying to replace my sidelights as i want to change them to white lights with a hint of blue although i cant figure out how to change them. Can anyone please please help.

Just incase there wasn't enough for you to read i was wondering if anyone could help me with ways to make my car look more stylish at an affordable price as being a student and a sainsburys employee doens't make life easy.

Many thanks and i'm hoping to get a pic up soon of my car.

firstly get a headunit for improved sound quality, and some Speakers for the rear parcel shelf, these will set you back around £80, thats how much mine were (7x10 320Ws), this will improve your sound quality adding some bass etc..

First off mate welcome 2 the club! :group-cuddles:

U can de-badge the rear mate and that will clean up the rear end! Don't attempt 2 do the front 1 tho as it will leave 2 holes! And as wlsmith sed get the sound system sorted!

Cheers

P.S. I think u mean Yaris VVT-i

If you are replacing the head unit this may help:

Here are the part numbers that you need etc:-

Fascia: Toyota Part 55406-52010-B0 - About £38 inc Vat, barter with parts rep and you should get it at that price or thereabouts.

Double Din Unit - FP-11-03, made by Audioleads, it says for a RAV4 but it will fit the Yaris.....the bit you need to attach to the DD Unit is a fork looking part with a bent leg. the rest of it you can bin (i think).........i did.

ISO Lead cant remember the part number for that though.

Hope this helps.

hey darren, debadging is when you take of the badges and will give the car a smoother appearance,

you basically need 3 things:

1. Toyota Yaris Fascia Adapter - This is available from your local toyota dealer. Cost £38 including Vat, part number is 55406-52010-B0

2. Autoleads Double Din converter - ordered from halford for £25 inc vat, part number for this is FP-11-03 (listed as Rav4 but will fit Yaris)

3 Autoleads ISO Conversion block from yaris wiring to standard iso connection. This was £12 including vat from Halfords, part number i cant remember, but its the toyota one (think it says will fit most toyotas on front of box) maybe its this PX687

what happens to the standard output screen when you replace it with a custom headunit?

the screen at the top of the dashboard wer it tells you the radio station etc.

does this stay blank? or stil shows the temperature?

also isit possible to change the backlights of the display unit to a custom colour?
