Well Good Afternoon

Can I just say how great it is to be back amongst the reliable cars again. I owned a 58-plate RAV-4 XTR for eight and a half years and then, for some unfathomable reason, I allowed myself to be seduced by the Land Rover Discovery Sport. I sold the extremely reliable 85,000 mile RAV to a friend of my wife's and leapt into the unknown world of Euro 6 Diesels. What a disaster! Suffice to say that I rejected the car for multiple reasons after only 5 months and I am now waiting for my 18MY Hybrid Excel AWD which arrives at the dealership next week. For a bit of fun, google "JLRP00100" to see what I just escaped from.

Welcome back ...and that's a scenario I've sadly heard more than a few times.!!.

I've always been a "fan" of the LR's..both RR and Disco..BUT have NEVER bought one due to the horror stories that just won't go away.

I want reliability,.!...so I've always bought Japanese..and of late...only Toyota.

A friend of mine has recently changed her 2/3 year old Honda CRV and for some reason chose a brand new RR Evoque to replace it..it's already been back to the dealer (within 2 weeks) due to electric window faults...go figure.!

Enjoy your new vehicle.!

A friend of mine works on the production line for JLR in Solihull. He said he'd never own a Land Rover. Not through cost, but because he see's how they're built.

Such a shame for what is alleged to be an iconic vehicle and certainly not cheap..!.

My first comments to my friend were along the lines of .."I do hope you are not expecting the level of reliability that you enjoyed with your Honda"
