Sr180 alternator change

Apologies if this has been covered before, I'm new here.

Just wondering if anyone has a guide or knows how to remove and replace the alternator for an sr180. i had the Battery light and fuel light come.up on the dash yesterday and after a quick search found multiple threads saying it's the alternator about to pack up. I'm fairly handy with mechanics and pretty skint so taking it to a garage isn't really an option currently.

How long roughly do i have before it packs up for good?

Thanks for any advice

I would first check the serpentine belt if the tension is correct, then when the car is on, if the Battery is being charged propperly, voltage should be around 14-15V while running.

Check if there is any corosion between Battery contacts, if the contacts are good etc. Clean if necessary

Replacement should not be hard, just bolt off, bolt on, but you would need to replace the serpentine belt while you are at it.
