Hi all, After 2 recent punctures  on recently new Continentals  I am wondering if the rear door with spare wheel carrier from an earlier Rav4 will fit my 2010 model.

Currently all I have is the aerosol repair kit.

Any help will be much appreciated.

A door from earlier mk3 RAV4 (I believe from 2006 to 2008 were supplied with spare on the rear door) would be a straight swap.

Thanks Kos_ta,  that is what I was hoping for. I did read here on the archives that the rear bumper may also require changing.

I have a niggling concern that the earlier Rav may have had some strengthening at the door hinges to take the extra weight of the spare tyre.

Any thoughts on this ?

You'd need a back bumper too, for the reg plate as your 2010 has it on the tailgate.

look for the door with hinges. Still attached.

It has been done and a 'how-to" produced in the past. Last time the question was asked, Frosty provided links to the 'how-to': Fitting Rear Door With Spare Wheel To 2012 Model. The 'how-to' starts here: Replacement Tailgate / Spare Wheel Capability - Chapter1 - there are 5 chapters but unfortunately the illustrations appear to have been lost from the thread ... the words are still there!
