Dashboard heater lights not working

Hi all, I bought a 2006 Avensis a year ago. It runs superbly but the dashboard heater lights have never worked, and it's about time I got round to fixing them. My initial quick look removing the knobs showed LED bulbs behind each individual button, fixed into the back of the buttons. I'm guessing that given that they're all out the problem might be something a little more generic, wiring perhaps? Or should I replace the bulbs first just to check?

Any advice would be appreciated!

The bulbs are integrated into the heater and not on the knob.there is a few write ups on here regarding them.to get the bulbs are dealer only still I believe they are dear.you could take a chance and get a 2nd switch at a breakers yard?
