There is a school of thought that Toyota engine oil is made by Mobil (Exxon).

I thought most of the oils they use are made by ENEOS?

Someone said is Eneos, who is no.1 in Japan! If we think, seems to be logic, japonese car with a no.1 engine oil in Japan! No?

It's entirely possible that it varies for different continents according to local deals/supply.

Eneos is a brand name used by JX Nippon Oil and Energy.

Similarly Mobil is an Exxon brand, and Castrol a BP brand.

In the UK,  under Block Exemption, Toyota are unable to specify what brand of oil dealers use - so when one's car is serviced, oil used may be Shell, Castrol, Mobil, Comma, Petronas or any of the other brands which are available commercially.
