Hi Ashley, welcome to TOC

I am not sure what "leggy when driving " means but no one can diagnose from the little information that you have given so more information would be useful e.g. which 2.2 (there are 150 & 177bhp versions), manual or auto transmission, how many miles on it, when last serviced etc etc..

The usual culprits tend to be the EGR and/or manifold filling up with carbon or the SCV but those would be just stabs in the dark without more info & ideally the car being code read.

Check your EGR valve....I have included some pictures of mine when I cleaned it yesterday and already throttle response is a little better...

Mine is a 2.2 d4d 2009’ 150bhp

Bugger.

That has got to be one of the dirtiest EGR's I have ever seen

Seriously, I am surprised it would run after it warmed up and tried to operate.

I remember the aggro with the Avensis last year due to the EGR and it was only a fraction of the carbon you had.
