so that time of year for insurance renewal has arrived :!Removed!:

phoned a few companies and was shocked at the rubbish i was told! ranging from £800-£1200 and some basically gave me an f off when i spluttered 'modified'!

tesco was lookin the best option at just short of £700 and my bank offered to insure for just over £700, which is a bit reasonable, but before long checked out with elephant.co (been with them for the previous two years) and quoting

21 yrs

low crime zone

in the garage

4 yrs no claims

ALL mods declaired

£250 excess

no offences

...............£640 :D

and then a bit of research, i ask how much it would be to add the girlfriend as its sometimes necessary to drive the car :!Removed!:

so i blurted the details for her expecting a rise on top (which she was willing to pay) bear in mind shes been driving less than a year and only on third party with her insurance....

.................£540! :o

i ask if thats a mistake and i was told that cos women are classed as safer drivers  ! as opposed to 21 yr old lads.

so i enquired that even though the 'nutter' will be driving 90% of the time its still cheaper cos she mite use it to go down the shops??

.......well yeah!

SOLD

They did the same for me with my MR2, they are often a bit funny with mods nad be careful because they don't replace like for like they replace with standard parts!!

Funking good price though!!

Mate of mine used then when he bought his Civic Type-R... similar scenario when he added his parents. He's pretty chuffed with the service too.

:o I can't beleive all these good quotes :o

I pay about £1100 , addmitedly I have no NCb but Jaxx by the sounds of it neither does your girlfriend?!, oh but i guess that doesn't matter for second drivers. But I have been driving 7 years with no claims.

That is crazy that by adding extra people the premium goes down

I cant even get insured on my bf's car :o
