3 way Valve for the Windscreen Wipers

My first post...I bought brand new Toyota Yaris from Jemca Edgware Road in 2012 which came with 5 year warranty and the warranty expires end on December 2017, I have had car serviced and MOT done at Jemca where I bought the car every year. This year I was told that 3 way Valve feeding the Windscreen wiper is not functioning properly and needed replacing at approx. £48.00 cost. When I pointed out that this should be covered under warranty, I was told this is wear & tear and not covered under warranty.

I am not happy with this and phoned to speak to the manager, a senior lady phoned back to say this part is covered for 3 years and not 5.

I wonder if someone can help me with this issue as I am still not satisfied and would look to take it further... but to who?

Welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

With any manufacturer, some components are considered wear and tear and carry a limited warranty - brake discs and clutches being common for this.

Bit cheeky that, so if the washer pump failed that too would be 'wear & tear'?

Is there a problem with the wipers/washers?
