My Local Toyota Dealer Is A Joke!

Collected my Corolla T-Sport from the dealer yesterday evening after a faulty clutch they fitted collapsed on me. Spoke to the lady in service reception and she informed me that the clutch has been replaced, fair enough I thought I am not really one for making a fuss even though they had the car for 2 weeks to carry out the repair!

But this takes the biscuit I drove out the dealer and they must of done the tracking as the steering wheel is now on the *****, to late to go back as all the technicians had gone home. When I got home I thought I would check the oil as I am off to the Goodwood Festival Of Speed tomorrow for the weekend as I lift the bonit (your going to love this) they had not bothered to re fit the plastic engine cover!

Now due to their lack of professionalism the car was parked back outside the dealership this morning at 7:45am and I now back in my Yaris 1.0 T3 awaiting once again for it to be sorted out!

I sorry to moan but if this is how Toyota treats all there service customers I am shocked how they retain business! My Honda cant arrive soon enough!

Tell me about the toyota dealers, they are a joke.

Got my 4x4 repaired after a guy on his bike did not see me parked up :censor: .

The 4x4 had to go in three times to sort out a deep scratch down the side.

Then they had the cheek to write me a letter to say your MOT is due and also the Service is due.

I did not replay to the letter then I got a phone call from the service manager rearding the above and I told him you must be joke, after the trouble I had with your body shop now I am going to go in for a service from yourself.

Well in the end I got £100 in Toyota vouchers off them for inconvience.

Try your luck with the inconvience.

Ouch, you arent having much luck with your Toyota.

Its seems Toyota is fab....till they break..which they inevitably do, then its pot luck whether you get good service or bad

when i first got my car i asked about TRD parts, the sales man said "T-R-Who???"

maybe its me being picky but since he was going on and on about his supra (comparing it to my Yaris!!!!! did he actually want me to buy the car) during the test drive i thought it was funny he had never heard of TRD :P

But i must say my local dealer in gereral is quite good now its under a new name

In my experiences it's only best to use main dealer facilities if the car is still under waranty. If the waranty period is finished why not send it to a Toyota Specialist who can do all your servicing and repair needs at a 1/4 of the price with a friendly smile? You'll also know it's been done properly too and they can even stamp your service book B)

Supra cambelt change is easy :P

The local toyota people are also monkeys (henley) I hada total nightmare with them last summer, I knew whata problem was and needed it "officially" diagnosing on headed paper and they fannyed about with the car fora week, checked everything on the car that I did not ask them to do, but failed to check the turbos.. I spoke to the mechanic on the phone and he really did not have a CLUE what he was on about. I marhed in later that day to "take my vehicle out of their care" and they hit me with a bill for £270!!! I pointed out that they have not actually DONE anything and they let it drop....

MUPPETS!!!

parts guy there had also never head of TRD. (tho the main parts guy is sound as a pound.. it was hoim that showed me the add in jap performance for the car I now own!)

The guy I use is in Northampton - so only just up the A34 from you :P

His name is Richard. His garage is called Blue Streak Auto's. He is ex-Toyota Mechanic, but got fed up with their ways and went independent. Dub Boy used to be his boss (so I hope he didn't have anything to do with Richard's unhappiness :P :D ).

In the number of times I have been to his garage I have seen three different MR2's (not including Nicola's), Celica's (N/A's and GT4's 185 & a 205), Corolla's Hi-Ace, Hi-Lux. He also does other Jap motors (mitsi, honda etc...) and non-jap.

He is quick, does not rip you off and is very reliable. He will not tell you something needs doing if it doesn't and will give you correct advice if something is not quite right. If it is beyond his capabilities he will tell you and advice where to take your car if need be.

You can reach him on 01604 759966 don't forget to mention myself (Garrick) or Toyota Owners Club ;)

**** that is bad of them, I had to take my Yaris T3 to get a scratch repair done..took her down on a Tuesday morning and got another YarisT3 whilst they had mine..when they did the quote they said it would only take one day, two at the most. I didn't hear from them at all after I left her so I got my Dad to call them on the following Monday, she was being cleaned at the time so they said they would ring back, and thankfully did and I went and got her the following Tuesday!!

Hi nick

That's unbelievable mate. How could they make such a stupid mistake like that. I've heard of garage's forgetting to refill the windscreen wash but to forget to refit the engine cover. Thats way way out of order.

Man you should kick up a stick mate and get some compensation back matey :ffs: This garage of yours is giving Toyota a bad name :arrgg-matey:

When I was needing some parts for my MR2, I phoned up 8 different dealers and got different pricing from each  It wasn't just pennies - there was a difference of £120 between the cheepest quote and most expensive :o

Just want to say I've always used the Toyota dealers I got the car from (Lindops, Queensferry) and they've been great with me.

Even fixed my broken windscreen wipers under warranty for a fault that I thought wouldn't be covered. Washed and valetted the car too and it was filthy when they got it as it had just spent a rainy week on a caravan site in Wales!

I suppose it's the luck of the draw with dealers.

the henley garage are "special" like karma said the parts guys are sound even though they where not sure which part i needed and he guessed which one it was and said if its wrong i will still need to pay for it ?? took the sera in for a pre mot service all they kept goin on about was how the door struts were weak and that it would fail the mot on it????? never seen doors on a mot test form.

basically they dont know cars like supra sera as they hardly ever get them in and are in my opinion scared of them.

like my old man sayd dealer mechanics are just fitters

back street nechanics are mechanics .

Obviously there are many people not happy with their Dealer...

But without adding my woes to the rest, does anyone know

Where in the Toyota organisation you complain to?

Does it achieve anything?

What Toyota Specialists there are in Devon / Cornwall?

Thanks in advance...

There is some good news and bad news in Manchester with Toyota Dealers. About three months ago I booked my car with Culvers in Stockport for a check - up. The results where my complete exhaust was gone (I knew my middle piece was just blowing but the guy said the whole system was gone! C.V boots were cracking bigtime, brake + clutch fluid was contaminated, all belts were cracking including the timing belt and my rear washer was not working. Fair enough but the price he gives on the exhaust was £467.15 alone.

LIKE I WAS GOING BACK TO THEM but the TIT did not bother to send me an invoice, ******s.

Then I went to RRG in Denton to get the belts but again the service was a shambles. Then I found RRG Salford it was completely different compared to the last dealers got my brake and clutch fluid changed from them and they were cheaper. When I got my SS exhaust done the guys there said my C.V boots were cracking but only very lightly so still had plenty of miles in them. As for the rear washer stuck a pin in it and started working.

Does anyone know of Toyota specialists in Manchester/North-west? Saying that there are alot of COWBOY garages about been to all of the COWBOYS, CAN'T FIND A GOOD ONE.

What annoys me, is that my car has a full service history, every 10K on the dot, but it still pics up trivial problems a few weeks after the service that they shuld have picked up on..but they have'nt

It just strikes me as odd
