Yaris engine/other noise at speed

Hi

The 04 1.3 Yaris T Spirit we have had a couple of months has been a reliable about town runaround car. It is not as comfortable as our Avensis which is to be expected but sneaking into small parking spots is a real benefit so we have taken to using it all the time for local use. However at over 60 the noise is quite high. It sounds as if the engine is revving really hard at only 65mph but the rev counter only shows about 2500rpm. It may be tyre noise, a wheel bearing or imaginary as perhaps all small cars are noisy at speed. As it is particularly cold at the moment for messing around outside with cars any pointers to help me quickly diagnose what is going on, if anything would be great.
