Turbo Purchase

Im sure you guys saw the thread on my 300Bhp N/a idea and was pretty much warned against it, so I am now considering upgrading the whole car, I have made a few mistakes with mine along the way but have learnt from them (eg. the front bumper!!!). It would be nice to have a more powerful/clean starting option to take advantage of.

Now, i am looking to possibly buy a Rev 3 turbo within the next 3-4 months. I need to know what to look out for, how much i should be spending, the mistakes/problems sellers can easily cover up when selling , where is best to buy from etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Dave!

I got mine from Japan .. but they seem to be expensive atm ..

Hard to describe really, you'll know a lot driving an NA.

You are in the area .. so let me know and I'll come along too ..

Just drive as many as you can :)

On a (kind of) similar note.

Is a turbo conversion possible on an MR2 N/A engine?

Are the final results any good?

How do they compare against a REAL MR2 turbo?

And finally how much would the conversion cost?

cheaper to buy a tubby... as the cluth would need to be upgraded as well i would presume and also the insurance would be a lot higher....

You'd need a turbo, intercooler, ecu, injectors, cams, and internals, a way of droping the compressing ratio too ..

Anything over 6/7 psi (30 bhp) could melt stuff ..
