USB music playback issues

Any help much appreciated!  My mother has a 2017 Yaris, wanted music so I've put a lot of tracks on a USB flash drive for her, for Christmas.  Problem is only the first track will play...trying to skip forward doesn't access the others...but can see that they're on there.  All plays fine in my Dacia Logan (yes, having far fewer issues with the cheap piece of junk).

Any ideas please?  Not at all technical so drawing a blank, and a search doesn't seem to show anyone with the same issue.  Would be very thankful for help as this is meant to be her Christmas present but can only use it in my car!!

Try another smaller usb drive. My 2011 Yaris struggles with USB drives more than 8gb.

What type of radio do you have?

We have a Touch n go unit, have a older type in the Auris and that had no problem with a 32Gb drive.

i use a 16gb in my 2016 the usb needs to be formatted into FAT32 not NTFS, you can do that in windows by right clicking and go to format option on the list and choose FAT32, although all flash drives usually come formatted in FAT32 anyway

The best way to set up your music is having a master folder for each artist for example (ABBA) folder and then a sub folder inside the (ABBA) folder with (GOLD) with the mp3 files for that album and another master folder for say (QUEEN) and a sub folder inside the (QUEEN) folder with (GREATEST HITS) with the mp3 files in that and so on

it makes choosing the albums you want easy on the screen too if you have multiple albums for each artist
