economy remap for the FHV engine

Just wondering if anyone on the forum that has / has previously had a T180 2.2 with the FHV engine and bothered with egr / dpf delete and economy remap and if they felt the outlay was worth it?

I've seen the poor economy of the FHV engine is well documented, I do a daily commute of 100 miles of A & B roads and picked up an 07 plate cat N with full Toyota history for under a grand (insurance paid out £3500) that just required me to replace a back light and the rear bumper.

Having previously owned an 04 Avensis 2.0 T3 I went with this because frankly every car I've owned since the 04 has been more trouble than that was, so as a commuter I thought it was a reasonably safe bet and would last me the next couple of years, however I'm in two minds as to whether just enjoy it as it is, or fork out for the jobs mentioned.

thanks in advance

Since 2014 on vehicles which should have a dpf, the MOT has included a visual check on whether the dpf is still in place. 1,800 owners have been fined since 2014

From May of this year the check is being updated and strengthened to ensure a dpf is present and working on vehicles which should have a dpf.

So doing a dpf delete can result in both an MOT failure and a fine.

thanks for reply, I saw the info on this and taking this into consideration this could be an issue, I would be happy to just delete the egr and have the remap and just get the dpf cleaned as I am an engineer and have the facilities to remove the dpf and clean it. I am just unsure if the outlay on the remap etc is worth it in the long run or leave it be.
