2007 D4D - Fan not working

Looks like the fan is not working on my car.  I hear the fan noise coming from the front dash but it is a lot more quiet than it should be and is not pushing out air at all.  The heat is coming out so the windows are murder to defrost and clear.  Is this a simple enough job to replace and what would the garage cost be of replacing one?

I think I've resolved the fan issue.  I removed the air filter and there was a fair bit of leaves and debris clogged in it - a surprisingly small amount to cause the whole thing to not work but there is more air pushing through anyway - perhaps not quite as much as should be but should be enough to clear windscreen and heat the car now!
