evening all,

my Battery and fuel filter warning lights on my T180 came on together on the way to work today...reading some forums it seems its happened to others...now most people say it is the alternator...but a few said they changed the alternator and the issue wasn't resolved...so I am now confused as I have booked into garage to change alternator tomorrow at £350....but is it going to resolve it ?

Note: I have put Battery on external charge and it started at 6 amps and is down to 3 amps after a couple of hours...(still charging)

any quality help appreciated...

thanks

It sounds quite expensive worth checking the Battery when car is running.

Hi all, apologies forgot to close post. It was the alternator. Odd that fuel filter light also came on when issue occurred, but all clear now... minus £350.... same price at every garage pretty much.. thanks for replies..

Possibly the fuel pump was not getting enough voltage.

Good point.. seems a common occurrence when alternator packs up..may confuse some owners if it happens...
