Hi,

My name is Kled and I'm a new Auris owner. Im very excited as it will be my first Toyota and also my first brand new out of the factory car.

I went for the hybrid Auris design on Tokyo red. And Would appreciate any tips on how to look forward to keep the car on its prime condition. Advices on products that can be used to protect and clean the car interior upholstery, and also the touch screen which i imagine can get really dirty and grease over time, same for the outside how to clean, polish and how often it should be done.

I think that is it for now but looking forward to make some friends here and hear your thoughts on car care.

Look after it the same way any car should be looked after. Buy decent quality care products and use them on a regular basis. I've not found the touchscreen to be a problem and mine gets touched a lot.

Hi Pete, as daft as it might sound I never really looked forward for my past cars. My previous ones always has been older than 15 years and basically I just drove until it fails the MOT making me move to the next one. Thats why I would appreciate tips on products and brands now.

If you haven't got leather seats  & are not going for the dealer's protection products (if you do don't pay anything like "list") then https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scotchgard-Multi-Purpose-Protector-400-Pack/dp/B005N62OR8/ref=sr_1_1? is decent for protecting seats etc.

Thanks Heidfirst, nope i ain't going for leather seats mine will be the Alcantara sport seat. The dealer offered the XGuard for £550 which i though was too much so I decided to get it done myself. I will definetelly get the Scothgard for the seats. Can i use it on the rest of the interior or should I get other products?

You can also use it on the carpets and also door cards if they are fabric.

Make sure that you get mats to protect the carpets  & even though you are going to Scotchguard the seats you may still want to consider getting seat covers (make sure that if you do that they are airbag compatible).

Autoexpress does lots of group tests of different products over the year e.g. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/64398/best-interior-trim-cleaner-2017 , http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/86909/microfibre-cloths-and-car-drying-towels-2016-group-test
