Does anyone know where the Air Conditioning drain pipe tube or outlet is located on the E12 Corolla T Sport ? Thank you.

Would assume the tsport is the same as a 1.4/1.6 ?

If you go to the passenger footwell , the right hand side  where the centre consoles side comes down to meet the carpet, if you carefully lift the carpet  around there or a bit higher you will find a small rubber tube , about 12mm diameter coming out and going down to the floorpan where it exits via a rubber grommet.

Yes it was exactly as you described thank you Codger !

I just wanted to see what it was like and it seems to be very dry and no sign of moisture. Does anyone have any experience with these blocking ? When I drive my car I sometimes hear some sloshing under the dash like there is water sitting in the HVAC system somewhere ?

It was a clear night last night, today the car windscreen was iced up real good but was also soaking on the inside also...

Last week I also checked the pollen cabin filter on my car and well there wasn't one in there ! I purchased one and fitted it though I was wondering if I was supposed to as I've heard of some cars not running the filter due to the air conditioning system ? Any advice on these things would be appreciated. Kenny.

Hi,

Glad you found it ok.

The typical way to be sure its not blocked is to run the air con for 15 mins or so as you come home and park the car/ switched off.

Leave it there for another 10 -15 mins then drive forwards and you should see a small pool of water , say about 6 to 12" diameter where the ice has melted off the air con fins and drained away.

Always used a pollen filter, no problems with a/c or heating, though had to have the air con recharged last years as it was not cooling as well.

Have used the  cabin air con cleaner spray bombs to keep the a/c  smelling fresh but found that injecting the foam with this type  down the air vents much more effective.

As for the sound of  water and your screen fogging up,   if your heating works ok and you are not loosing radiator water then suggests thats all ok.

More likely is that you have a leak somewhere in the body work, suggest you check the following.

Is the felt under the carpet dry in all four footwells ?

Are the door and rear  hatch drainholes clear, usually 2 or 3 small holes under the bottom of each door.

Any water in the spare wheel well ?

Any condensation on the rear light clusters, their seals can leak.

Open the interior  access panels to the rear light clusters and look down into the bottom of the rear wing cavaties, any water collected .

Interesting Codger I'll try the parking then moving again method tomorrow and see what happens.

I have a use once cans of ventilation cleaning sprays where you set the can and leave it in the passenger foot well, it continuously sprays for about five minutes and you run all the vents open / AC on etc...

I'll get the air vent type of cleaner you are using next though...

No leaks to report, I did have one very recently in the rear right vent that hided behind the rear bumper but I've just resolved this (see my other threads...)

The door holes I need to check, my door seals up at the top corners are a bit damaged so I might have to look into replacing these sometime soon though I don't think they are causing any water leaks, nothing ever appears wet inside.

The rear light cluster seals are good like I said I checked all that over when I had my spare wheel recess filling up with water...

Will keep an eye on things

Do you hear the sound of water sloshing if you drive slowly (say 10mph) and then brake hard ? If so then you might have an airlock in the heater matrix and you are hearing the sound of the coolant sloshing in the heater core.
