Some help how to remove the old leather from gear stick and to out new...please...thanks

I had it done few months ago, and ordered a new one. There was a local place that made them per order for 15 euros.

First, unscrew the knob. Then, put your finger, under the skin, and pull towards yourself. There are plastic lips, and you will hear a pop. Just continue doing with this, untill it's all removed.

After that you need straighten plastic staples, in order to remove them, and free the plastic clip holding the leather.. Once you take the old leather out, you need to mark the holes on old leather, and punch them, then reinsert old staples.

 

Even with very basic tools, it took me 1 hour to change.
