Windscreen wiper fail

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else has had their windscreen wipers fail ? Ours did, the wipers stopped, at about 45 deg. The motor continued to work, so not a fuse. Toyota have diagnosed a linkage fail, no surprise. But, I see, through a bit of research, that Canada, in 2015, had a recall, of Ravs 2009-2012, for a potential front wiper crank arm failure, due to water dripping onto the wiper motor link. Toyota want £300, to replace the linkage, and I've asked for the old part and workshop documentation, to check the part number of the failed part. Any information gratefully received.

There was a recall in the US/Canda but the circumstances where quite specific the issue only affected LHD ( different linkage to RHD ) and Rav's built in Canada our Rav's Come from Japan.
