Hello everybody

My question actually is very simple.

My 2008 corolla developed a strange rattling noise. When going uphill, or with parking brake on, i can hear slight metal to metal rattle in the front right area, but i can`t pinpoint. Another thing is that sound occur at exactly 1k rpm. Above and under everything is good. Some things that i checked:  Plastic tray under wipers, glove box, dash. In the wheel area , sway bar link is looking good, strut looks ok, wheel is checked with torque wrench. Heat shield on the turbo also ok...

Any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Assume you mean if you were driving on the flat and then apply the handbrake to give some drag ?

Also expect you mean that you are travelling in a high gear ?

Could it be more of a Pinking sound, believe thats more an injector problem on diesels.

Any front end work done on the car recently ?

Could also check the heat shields where the engine exhaust manifold shield meets the transmission tunnel shield, they do not normally touch, but if work has been done on the engine etc they could have been bent out of shape and touch under certain engine  loads/movements

Hi back :D

1. Yes

2. No. Usually in 1st going slowly uphill

3. No power loss, no misfires, no OBD codes, smooth runner, 1st owner from new & well maintained

4. Not now & no ever. Original parts still strong

5. I`ll check them because they seems like are weak spots on this corollas

Also it could be engine mount, but engine do not move under load

Thanks for tips
