Hi Folks.I have a 2008 Toyota Avensis TR D4D estate and i recently got a ''new'' Radio/MP3 CD player/GPS unit with model number B9010  for it from at exact same 2008 Avensis  TR. After all (connections and fitting to the panel) the radio won't turn on and it says " a program cannot be read. please consult to a dealer''. Does anyone have a same problem? does anyone find a solution to this? i know for a fact that it is %100 working unit .thanks.

It probably needs a disc in the map drive to initialise.

Yes!yes!yes! it was a very simple think - you need to insert any of 4 map disc's in to a map drive to initialize a system, so, info to anyone who will have a similar problem, if you change a car Battery or for some reason you have to disconnect a car Battery, don't forget to insert a disc after you reconnecting a Battery again. Heidfirst - thank you very much for your time and your experience and for your hint!    Kind regards Rocker69.

Yes it is a known subject with the Nav unit and discs. My friend had the same problem with his 2008 TR, when the Battery was disconnected -

On thing I will add, is that once the unit has finished initializing (leave it for a few days), you can remove for security purposes. I am aware that some owners have had their discs or SD cards stolen, when the car is left at garages or other places!

Hi

I also have a toyota avensis 2008 which has the same error sign, 'a program cannot be read' and the radio will not switch on. However the radio unit has the disc inserted in the bottom player yet still won't work. Can anyone help?

Hi & welcome to TOC.

You normally find it in the map DVD drive of the head unit ...

If you don't have one try eBay.

I take it that you also have the "a programme can't be read" message? If so, it's the system looking for the loading.kwi file to initialise.
