Isofix / Family car

So, our Verso is a 2016 Model with full leather.. i think I am correct in saying a 7 seater is a 'family car' (among other uses) .. so you would have thought isofix child seats would be easy to put in? designed well for the users?   Well what the hell where they playing at when they made this car !!! the leather is so tight, trying to ram the shaft of the isofix in to the socket is nearly impossible.. i was literally sweating wrestling with this seat for 15 minutes.

The thing that absolutely amazes me is that I have a 2014 Aygo X model, with full leather.. i think i am right in saying.. an aygo is not a 'typical' family car, however the isofix points have amazingly well cut out sockets in the leather.. the child seat isofix shafts slide in and out with absolute ease.. you can put a seat in in 2 mins. Its probably the easiest car isofix I have put a child seat into. (with the exception of bmw, they have nice little doors.. that is REALLY easy)

This is the same manufacturer that has completely pi**ed me off with these seats. My wife cant move the child seat, and if i ever have to take it out then getting it back in is a total pain in the a**

Page 173 of the full owners manual (downloadable from https://www.toyota.co.uk/tme#/my-toyota/eManual ) covers installation of an ISOFIX child seat.

One has to move the seat back to the first lock position, then the seventh lock position, check the position of the lower anchors, and then install the seat.

I’m glad it’s not just us that faced this issue.  When we first got the car we must have spent the best part of 20 minutes trying to get the car seat in.  In the end we managed it by using the isofix insertion guides that came with the maxi cosi.  The leather does loosen over time, I can now move the two car seats between cars with no issue.
