Induction kit

Hi everybody, away to pick my mk2 Aygo x up tomorrow and have been looking for induction kits but cannot really see many, has anybody tried this on a mk2 yet?

I don’t know about induction kits, but a K&N panel filter is also worth looking at, but it sepends what your after.. more noise? Power? Under bonnet looks?

on my last Aygo I ran a full Stainless Steel cat back Exhaust, K&N panel, and a remap from my local reputable tuner.. it all added about a 10% increase in power.. something like 6 or 7 bhp.   The car sounded like a little beast, but a tad ‘droney’ on long runs.

The service from them was excellent, and they listened to what I wanted, and I had a wide range of tips..  the whole system was also lighter than the standard exhaust, so this also is a factor in performance gains. - was it worth it.. Yes because my old exhaust had rotted out and this was a no brainer going for a full SS System with a lifetime guarentee.

The map was from a good friend / local tuner http://www.protintuk.co.uk/ the guy that runs it is also called Stu. He charged me £200 for the remap, and recommended I get the K&N panel filter first before he remapped, so the filter was roughly £50 on eBay from memory... aygos are set to run very economically so from what I understand this is altered more on the power side (without going mad to risk damage. if you hear of any power claims greater than 10% that typically involves specialist work £££

So the results to my car..more power and torque (small but noticeable increase, and less weight)  all in cost was £550.. for me that's not 'that' expensive with regards to tuning/ modifying cars.

your question again - was it worth it? - well like I mentioned my exhaust needed replacing so with that factored in it was definitely worth it.. The only downside was more cabin noise, and a slight use of more oil.. but that was never an issue for me as I checked it regularly.

The car was noticeably quicker in the higher revs, and I guess this is because it was breathing a lot better.  

Would I do it again?   I now have a new aygo, and have done 25k miles. I am not planning on doing this again, only because I am doing so many miles all motorway and dual carriage way, so its a wasted upgrade in my view.. and I want the cabin to be as quiet as possible.. If I was doing shorter distances and nipping around I would do it again in a heart beat.

Last thing to add,  I also got a lighter set of yokohama tyres,.. In my view weight played a really big difference in adding performance. This may seem a bit excessive.. but hey, at the time I wanted to try and get my aygo to be as fast as it could be realistically without stripping interior or serious engine modification.
