Can you save my yaris going to scrapyard

Hi Guys 

My beloved yaris 1999 , Semi Automatic , not selecting gears. seem to be motor pressing the clutch is gone. 

is it possible to troubleshoot what went wrong., engine is running fine.   
Any help/ideas are highly appreciated.

I don't know much if anything about these boxes but have you tried resetting the 'electronics' by disconnecting the Battery for 30 minutes or so? Could be worth a shot!

Thanks for your suggestion . i will try that.. currently Battery went flat. 

last week started the car .. when selecting gear , sound of chr chr chr .. like you are selecting gears , without press clutch ,, 

i love my car .. very easy to drive no clutch paddle.  sorry to let it go .. just spend 300 on tyre and repair last month

can someone recommend cheap and cheerful car diagnostic tool of eBay etc , which works for my yaris

I suspect a replacement unit will cost more than the car is worth!

I'd try Toyota first to see if they can reset/reprogram the MMT computer and recalibrate it, otherwise it'd be cheaper to part-ex it for another one (Get a manual! They're loads more reliable anyway!! :P)
