My xcite was in for its 3rd service and first mot yesterday

waa given a brand new Yaris for the day while mine was in the dealer

I thought Wow ...I'm going to love this .....but ......

Gear box ..Awful ....jumped out of gear a few times ......

driving postion. .....ok ,but the dash is so big in the cabin I felt closed in and the steering column hit my knees when driving , it was very bulky

had all all the bells and whistles ...even told you when speed camera were there and a warning came on of road speed

engine ...now that I did like ...the power .... 1.5 ....woo hoo .....slow to pull away ..felt heavy like a diesel but when it went it went

so all in all after my free "test drive" I couldn't wait to get back in mine .....

mine is fun to drive ,pulls away quickly and looks lush ....so no change for me in the near future

Yeah, must admit the interior of the Mk3 really put me off it. It's like they put all the effort into the computer screen and forgot about everything else!

Coming from a Mk1 (And even a Mk2!) you kinda scratch your head and wonder why they took away all the storage compartments when there is soooo much blank space begging to be used on the gigantic dash alone!

If you had the 1.5 it must be the new atkinson-cycle capable upgrade to the 1.33 - Did you get a chance to play with it? I'm curious how it drives in the higher gears and what sort of mpgs you were getting!

Good post, Jo!

It's great when somebody gives a direct comparison to another model higher (or even lower) in the range and it's really useful advice.

Thanks for that and I'm glad that you still prefer your Aygo.

Many thanks and all the best.

Cyker ...only had a day while mine was serviced

didnt really play about with it .....i didnt even connect my phone to it ....did put it in 5 th gear , drove ok and handles the road well ..... I just didnt like it at all

I never felt comfortable in it ....was a strange feeling ...never had that before ...my sis has a15 plate Yaris  1.33 and hers feels nicer to drive

gear box box I really struggled with ...it just didn't want to go into gear !

interior dash is awful .... really plastic looking and wasted space ....and it was huge

I couldn't see over it to the front of the car and I sit high while driving

i was sl so happy to get mine back ....my smile hasn't left my face .... and it's driving fantastic after its service and engine clean

We had our i20 in for a day last month, and we were supplied with an i10 courtesy car (67 reg).  Previously quite liked the i10, but not the mild facelifted one we had.  Drivetrain was jerky and we were glad to get back into the i20 and Aygo. The Aygo has so much more character.

At least there's a small shelf for your pepperoni sausage above the glove box!

I think the Yaris is quite stale now to be honest and is due for a replacement. Its the oldest design out of the Aygo, Yaris and Auris range. The outside looks alright but the interior really feels dated and needs to be completely redesigned to extend the life of the Yaris range. I’ve not driven one however so I can’t really comment on how it drives....
