Brake Problem?

OK when i brake really hard (not skidding though) the handbrake light comes on ?!?!

The brake fluid is fine and the brakes seem ok?! I get some squeeling from the back left wheel when i go round left hand corners though?! Thats after changing the brake shoes...

Anyone any ideas?

I had that problem on my Starlet but once i changed the brake fluid and got ne brake shoes it was fine. The handbrake light comes on as a warning about the fluid or the shoes but you have said you have changed these so maybe it could just be a loose wire or faulty connection?

i assume you'[ve tried staying stationary and pressed the brake hard, if it doens't come on then i think its probably a faulty switch?!?
