warning Park Brake and VSC

Hi,

Yesterday, as I was driving, 2 warning came up at the same time:

- Check park brake system

- Check VSC system

I am surprised that 2 failures on 2 different systems happen at the same time (except if they are linked).

What would you recommend to do? disconnect and reconnect Battery, should I check anything else?

As Morten said probably the easiest/quickest would be to get it code read.

The braking system & the VSC are linked (it's also quite common to also have the main engine/malfunction warning light come on with these).

 

Btw your profile says that you have a 2011 T25 but T25 production ended in 2008. If you could fix the error it would help people to help you.

I agree  with both Scott and Morten's replies.

Does the EPB still have some function? If it still works manually then something else may be affecting the EPB (no auto release) and disabling the VSC. Diagnostics will help.

I seem to remember from another post, that a seized rear caliper can be a cause! Inspect the rear brakes and operation - a brake test at an MOT station may confirm this. The test will show if both the parking and normal brakes are working properly.

Hi Nicolas, How did you get on with this double warning light problem . do you also have a cruise control with cuts out after a bit ?
