Hi guys!

I have a mk4 Fiesta a 2nd car just to run around in at the moment. Some :censor: decided to put a traffic cone through the windscreen. Bound to have too many beers :ffs:

As the insurance is just third party i dont have window cover. Ive got a 2nd hand window from the scrap yard but ive never fitted one. Its not bonded in thank god but does anyone have any tips on how to fit them etc??

With the rubber fitted onto the screen you need a long length of strong thinish nylon chord like they use in bathroom light switches. You fit this into the slot in the screen rubber that will eventually fit the flange on the body. You need to have a loop in it at the middle top big enough to be able to get your hands in easily and the ends should overlap about 6 inches at the bottom and have about 6 to 12 inches free sticking out. Smear washing up liquid around the groove too once the chord is in. Put the dangly ends on top of the dash and sit the bottom edge over the flange.Make sure the top loop will be inside the car and rest the screen against the flange. With someone pushing the screen top into place start to pull the chord around from the top middle to each top corner, go just around the corners then pull the bottom bits the same wayworking up to where you finished the tops. Thats basically it, you can make sure its settled by slapping fairly hard around the screen a few times or make a fist and bash it with the fleshy edge.

Just a warning mate. Yeah Kelvyns totally right, BUT it's a Ba****d of a job and will probably take hours, if it's not spot on perfect, you'll have to do it over and over. If you can get someone whos done it before, you'll be much better off.
