Adding Aftermarket VSC?

While reading another thread mentioning rear brake discs, I was suddenly wondering - Is it possible to upgrade a Yaris to have VSC and rear discs? Normally it's a factory option (I forget if it is the Stability pack or the Protection pack or something like that) that you need to have, but that suggests it is possible to add it...?

Would it just be a matter of fitting rear discs and maybe a different brake force distributor thingy, or would a whole new ECU be required too...?

That sounds like a major under-taking.

AFAIK on the Gen. 3 it was based on grade - Hybrids have disc all-round, with all the other models below Excel spec having drums on the rear. Excel has disc all-round on all models. This seems to apply to the latest models as well (I just checked the website).

Interestingly all vehicles have VSC, so it seems this can work with drum brakes?

VSC became a compulsory fitment on all new vehicles sold in the EU after 1st November 2014 regardless of whether they have disc or drum brakes. For example the current Aygo has ventilated discs at the front and drums at the rear.
